Chi-3
Its story
χ³ Sagittarii shines within the Archer, looking toward the very heart of the Milky Way. With χ¹ and χ² it forms an optical asterism —three stars that seem joined but are not—, for χ³ is a solitary orange K4 III giant about 500 light-years away. It is receding at 40 km/s, as if drawn back toward the bright galactic core behind it.
