Its story
4 Vulpeculae is an orange K-type star 272 light-years away, tucked into Vulpecula, a minor constellation introduced by Hevelius along the northern edge of the Milky Way. Though its brightness is subdued, its atmosphere is cooler than the Sun, placing it among the orange giants that populate this summer region. Vulpecula also harbours the famous Dumbbell Nebula, not far across the sky.
