96 Herculis is a blue giant 940 light-years away —a B3 subgiant whose radius exceeds the Sun's by more than six times. Its incandescent surface, near 17,000 kelvin, emits mostly in blue and ultraviolet light —invisible to the eye, yet enough to tint its apparent glow indigo. Variable and part of a spectroscopic binary, it pulses with the urgency of massive stars that live fast.

96 Herculis lies in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is June: the Sun sits at the opposite point of the sky and the star culminates around midnight. How high it climbs above the horizon depends on the latitude you watch from.
