Variable star

Its story

At 842 light-years, in the curved sting of Scorpius, pulses a blue variable whose light set out at the beginning of the twelfth century, when stone masters were raising the first great Gothic cathedrals in the Île-de-France. Its class B places it among young, scorching suns, with brightness oscillating in subtle rhythms. It belongs to one of the most recognizable zodiacal constellations of the southern summer sky.
