Its story
An orange K-type giant shines in Scorpius, the celestial scorpion, at about 569 light-years. Its light set out around 1457, when European workshops were finishing the first books printed with movable type, brewing a cultural revolution without precedent. Cooler and far more extended than the Sun, it displays a mature amber glow, typical of stars that have left behind the vibrant centuries of their stellar youth.
