Hot blue starIts story
Within the curved body of Scorpius burns a hot B-type blue star 1,773 light-years away. Its light set out around the year 253, in the heart of the third-century crisis of the Roman Empire, when emperors followed one another in mere years. Far hotter and more luminous than the Sun, its bluish flame accompanies the scorpion that has long traced its way through the Zodiac.
