Its story
Within the arched body of Scorpius shines an orange type K star, cool and ruddy, older than the Sun. Its light took roughly 321 years to cross the void: it set out when Newton published his Principia and Louis XIV reigned at Versailles beneath the sun of French absolutism. It appears today as a tempered ember among the joints of the sting, faithful to the slow march of the zodiacal predator across the southern skies.
