Its story

In the stellar heart of Scorpius shines an extraordinarily nearby yellow star, about 100 light-years away. Its light set out around 1926, when Schrödinger was formulating his celebrated equation and quantum mechanics found its modern language. Its colour, much like the Sun's, makes it a distant relative of our own star, separated only by the vast reach of space.
