Cool red starIts story
In Scorpius shines this red M-type giant, far cooler than the Sun and more than five hundred light-years off. Its light began travelling around 1461, in the thick of the Wars of the Roses in England, when Edward IV was seizing the throne and the House of York was rising. Over five centuries later, that deep red crosses the scorpion's sting and arrives here.
