Theta Trianguli Australis is a yellow star about 342 light-years away, in the little southern triangle. That geometric figure, proposed by sixteenth-century European navigators, is the southern counterpart to its northern cousin. Theta is one of the secondary vertices —not the bright apex, but the quiet pivot that holds the shape.
