Kap
Highly luminous starIts story
Kappa Trianguli Australis is a distant beacon, more than twelve hundred light-years away, in the small Southern Triangle charted by sixteenth-century European navigators. Its apparent brightness is misleading: to reach us from such a distance it must be intrinsically luminous, a yellow G-type giant burning far more powerfully than the Sun. A golden, ancient flame at the edge of an old explorers' triangle.
