Its story

ε Triangulum Australe shines coppery at 202 light-years, set within the small Southern Triangle first charted by Spanish and Portuguese sailors rounding the Cape of Good Hope. A K-class orange giant, it is a mature star whose atmosphere has swollen and cooled into that warm hue. It rests at one corner of this tight, almost geometric figure cut into the heart of the southern Milky Way, far below the horizon of any northern observer.
