Variable starIts story
In Andromeda —the chained princess of Greek myth— shines a blue-white B-type variable star. Its light has been travelling some four hundred sixty-eight years: it set out when Philip II was finishing El Escorial and the Invincible Armada was still a project on the admirals' drawing boards. Far hotter and more massive than the Sun, its brightness is not constant: it breathes to its own pulse. A forge of the Golden Age whose light is still in transit.
