What is HIP 12181

At 177 light-years, within the body of Andromeda, a yellow-white F-type star burns with a glow more intense than the Sun's. Its light started for Earth around the time of the Battle of Trafalgar, when Nelson was breaking the Franco-Spanish fleet and Europe was redrawing dominion over the Atlantic.

HIP 12181 lies in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky.
