Its story
6 Andromedae is a nearby neighbour, only 90 light-years away, an F5 subgiant just beginning to evolve, with 1.3 solar masses and roughly three times the Sun's luminosity. Most singular of all: it shows an infrared excess at 22 microns detected by space instruments, hinting at a circumstellar disk of warm dust —a system either still under construction or slowly dispersing. At magnitude 5.91, it is closing on us at 32 km per second.
