Its story

18 Boötis is a close neighbour on the cosmic scale: about eighty-five light-years away, an F-type star burning slightly hotter than the Sun with a characteristic yellow-white. It belongs to the Herdsman, the shepherd figure whose chief light, Arcturus, is one of the most celebrated stars in the sky. Its light takes less than a century to cross space and reach a human pupil.
