Its story
35 Comae Berenices shines in a delicate constellation, the only one named after a historical queen —Berenice II of Egypt, who offered her hair to the gods—. It is a yellow G-type star some 283 light-years away, a spectral cousin of the Sun yet far more luminous because of its more evolved stage. Its light set out around the time Galileo first turned his spyglass toward the sky.
