Its story
7 Comae Berenices is an orange K-type giant radiating about 63 times the Sun's luminosity from a 5,023 K surface. At only 730 million years old it is a relatively young star that has already left the main sequence —a fast-burning life compared to the Sun's. It glows from 249 light-years away in Berenice's Hair, a celestial region long associated with the locks of the Egyptian queen Berenice II.
