31 Comae Berenices is a yellow G-type star whose brightness shifts faintly over time, a tenuous pulsation that turns it into a study object. It lives in Berenice's Hair, one of the few modern constellations inspired by a real historical figure. Its light, emitted nearly three centuries ago, travels through a sky region famed for its density of galaxies.
