Its story
In Musca, the small southern Fly, it shines orange about 348 light years away. Its light set out around 1678, when Spinoza had just died, leaving his Ethics in posthumous form, and the French Académie was beginning to fix the canon of European literature. A K-type star, cooler than the Sun, with a coppery, steady glow. Its light crosses the southern sky like a small ember recalling the ancient warmth of hearths.
