2 Draconis is an orange K0III giant, twelve times the Sun's diameter and 49 times its luminosity, sustained at around 4,850 K. Its age is contested —ranging from just over one billion to more than six billion years— a tension sharpened by its unusually low metal content. Its warm light crosses the northern Dragon from 238 light-years away.
