59 Draconis coils with the northern dragon, about 89 light-years away —remarkably close for a Flamsteed-numbered star. White and A-type, it burns young and hot above the polar reaches of the sky. Compared with the Sun, its light arrives bluer, like a glint of ice descending the Dragon's spine.
