Its story
53 Draconis shines along the winding back of the Dragon, about 344 light-years away, with the familiar yellow light of a G-class star, akin to the Sun in temperature though far more distant. It is one of those discreet points one only finds once the eye has learned to trace Draco. The light reaching us tonight left in the mid seventeenth century, during the heyday of Cassini s astronomy.
