Hot blue starIts story
46 Draconis is a blue B-type star about 340 light-years away, set into the coils of the circumpolar Dragon. Its surface, far hotter than the Sun s, gives it an intense blue-white colour —a sign of youth and surplus energy. From above 40° north it never sets: every night of the year it traces its slow circle around the celestial pole.
