Variable starIts story
10 Leonis Minoris is a sun-like yellow giant with a quiet pulse. Catalogued as an RS Canum Venaticorum variable under the name SU LMi, it beats with a chromospheric period near forty days and an amplitude of barely 0.01 magnitudes —a breath almost too faint for photometers. More massive than the Sun and already swollen to about nine solar radii, it shines forty-six times brighter from a quiet corner of the Lesser Lion.
