Its story

Zeta-2 Antliae is a white A9 subgiant in the modest Air Pump, about 384 light-years away. With its partner Zeta-1 Antliae it forms a wide optical double: two points at very different distances joined only by the accident of the line of sight. Seen up close, Zeta-1 is itself a true binary of two white A stars separated by eight arcseconds — a small stellar theatre within reach of any amateur telescope.
