Its story
36 Andromedae is an orange K-type star only 124 light-years away, among the nearest in the Flamsteed list for Andromeda. Cooler than the Sun, its light has been on the road for barely a century and a quarter —setting out around 1902, in the years when cinema was just being born. Though its constellation is dominated by the great spiral galaxy, this star sits firmly inside the Milky Way, much closer to home.
