Variable starIts story
15 Andromedae is a variable white A-type star whose brightness drifts in slight changes ascribed to internal pulsations of the Delta Scuti family. It lies about 262 light-years away within the autumn silhouette of Andromeda. Its light set out in the years when Newton was beginning to publish his Principia, and it still beats, almost imperceptibly, with a rhythm that modern photometry can now decompose into precise harmonics.
