Its story
47 Andromedae is an A-type white star 208 light-years away, set on the silhouette of the princess chained to the sky. Its light, clean and slightly hotter than the Sun's, set out around 1818, when Europe was still rearranging itself after Napoleon. The patient eye finds it as a quiet glow north of the great spiral galaxy that shares the constellation's name.
