Its story
29 Lyncis lights up Lynx, that strip of northern sky Hevelius stitched together in the seventeenth century to fill a silent gap between more famous neighbouring constellations. It is a white A-type star 300 light-years away from Earth, bright by Lynx standards —where almost everything is watched in patient, attentive silence. The constellation has no clear figure; its stars must instead be read one by one.
