Cool red starIts story
In Lynx —the constellation Hevelius introduced for those with the sight of a lynx— burns an M-type star, red and dilated, far cooler than the Sun yet endlessly larger. Its light departed in the mid-fifteenth century, when Gutenberg unveiled the movable-type press and the Renaissance began to circulate in print through the cities of the north. It arrives now like a whisper of that dawn.
