Its story
In the quiet outline of Lynx, a constellation invented by Hevelius for the sharpest eyes, glows this yellow G-type star, a close cousin of the Sun. Its light set out in the early 1970s, when Apollo astronauts were taking their first lunar walks and Pink Floyd was recording its seminal albums. Only about 55 light-years away, it is one of those mild neighbours that remind us the Sun is not alone. To look at it is to greet a companion within almost a cosmic stone's throw.
