Its story
A yellow-white F-type star pulses in Carina, the keel of the Argo, barely 65 light-years away —an intimate distance in cosmic terms. Its light set out as the world was only beginning to rebuild after the Second World War and the first computers filled entire rooms. Slightly hotter and brighter than the Sun, it shines in a pale tone between gold and snow, a near neighbour in the immensity of the southern sky.
