Highly luminous starIts story
In Puppis burns a white A-type star, intensely luminous despite its distance. Its light began its journey some 1,213 years ago, deep in the 8th century, when Charlemagne was crowning an empire in the West and Baghdad flourished as a capital of learning. That gleam crossed the entire Middle Ages to reach our telescopes today as a silent echo of distant eras.
