Its story
A yellow giant on the stern of the mythical ship of Puppis, 352 light years away. The light reaching the courtyard tonight set off around 1673, when Cassini first observed the rings of Saturn in detail. Its G class echoes our Sun, yet at that distance its modest glow reveals an old giant that has long burned through its central hydrogen.
