Its story
In Puppis, the symbolic stern of the ancient ship Argo, an orange K-type giant burns quietly. Its light set out about 232 years ago, just as the first modern revolutions were unfolding and a new idea of citizenship crossed the Atlantic. Cooler than the Sun and richer in amber hues, it offers the tempered glow of stars that have aged and begun to swell their atmospheres.
