Its story

In the keel of Puppis sails a luminous G-class giant, far vaster than the Sun, whose golden light travelled more than fifteen hundred years to reach us. When it left that surface, the Western Roman Empire had just collapsed and Europe was sliding into the long medieval night. It belongs to those rare yellow stars that, well past their youth, have swelled their atmospheres into slow beacons of the galactic disc.
