Hot blue starIts story
A deep, almost electric blue marks this class B star perched in Puppis. Its surface burns at temperatures several times hotter than the Sun, and the light arriving now left around 1267, when Thomas Aquinas was completing the Summa Theologiae and the Christian kingdoms were advancing across the Iberian peninsula. A vast conceptual ocean separates that medieval world from this glow, drifting through the centuries before reaching our eyes.
