Its story
In Monoceros, the solitary celestial unicorn, glows an orange K-type star, cooler and more serene than the Sun. Its light set out some 268 years ago, when Lavoisier was beginning to unravel combustion and chemistry was born as an exact science. It reaches us with the calm proper to stars that burn unhurriedly — almost like an echo of the very fire we were then learning to understand.
