Hot blue starIts story
In Puppis, this blue-white B-type star lifts its hot, young, vibrant tone. Its light set out 998 years ago, around the year 1026, when the Benedictine monk Guido d'Arezzo was perfecting musical notation and naming the notes we still sing today. Far hotter and more massive than the Sun, it embodies the austral aesthetic of the B class: a metallic flame outlining a constellation seldom noticed by the storytellers of the northern hemisphere.
