Variable starIts story
Within the Greater Dog, beside the trail of Sirius, beats a blue variable star of type B whose light is never twice the same. Its glow travelled 937 years: it left around 1089, as Urban II was preparing in Rome the Synod of Piacenza, prelude to the First Crusade. Far hotter than the Sun, it pulses like a distant lighthouse breathing in silence.
