Its story
Canis Major is the celestial pack where Sirius rules, but in its shadow glow more discreet stars like this one — an orange sun of warm tone and broad bearing. Its light took about 619 years to reach our eyes, setting out when medieval Europe was leaving the Romanesque behind and Gothic cathedrals were lifting their first spires toward the sky. Cooler than our Sun and with a generous surface, this K-type star lives that long moment in which youth turns, slowly, into luminous maturity.
