Its story
In the hull of Puppis shines a yellow G-type star, almost a solar neighbor at about 54 light-years. Its light began traveling around 1972, the year Apollo 17 left the last human footprints on the Moon and Pioneer 10 set out for Jupiter. Its temperature and tone are nearly twins to the Sun's —an elder sister, anchored in another galactic suburb.
