What is HIP 33914
Within the twins of Gemini, 597 light-years away, beats an orange K-type star whose coppery light set out when, in 1429, a young Joan of Arc was lifting the siege of Orleans and changing the course of the war. Cooler and larger than the Sun, its surface hovers around 4,300 degrees and it has swollen enough to bathe its surroundings in a warm glow.

HIP 33914 lies in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is January: the Sun sits at the opposite point of the sky and the star culminates around midnight.
