Yellow and Sun-like, this G-star hides in Monoceros, the invisible unicorn galloping between Orion and Canis Major. Its light has been on its way for 838 years: it set out around 1188, just after Saladin had retaken Jerusalem and half of Europe was preparing for yet another crusade under other skies.

HIP 33603 lies in the northern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky.
