Monoceros —the Unicorn, a dim constellation without bright stars but crossed by the Milky Way— holds this white A-type 1213 light-years away. Its light departed around the year 813, when the Carolingian Empire had just been formed and Charlemagne had died barely a year before. A medieval light, still intact, arriving tonight from the very origin of Europe.
