Its story
14 Lyncis peers out from Lynx, that faint constellation Hevelius invented in the seventeenth century to fill a silent gap between the Great Bear and Auriga. It is a yellow G-type star, sunlike in colour but located 487 light-years away from Earth. Legend has it that only those with lynx-sharp eyes can pick out its stars unaided by optics; this one sits just inside that delicate threshold.
