Hot blue starIts story
10 Monocerotis lies 1,087 light-years deep into the Unicorn, but it does not travel alone: it belongs to the open cluster NGC 2232, a small family of young stars born from the same gas cloud. Blue, hot, of class B, it leads the group as its brightest member. Its light, kindled while medieval fires still burned, is only now reaching our eyes.
