Hot blue starIts story
This blue light left Monoceros around the year 967, when Otto I was consolidating the Holy Roman Empire and Al-Andalus flourished under the caliphs of Córdoba. It is a B-type star, blazing and bluish-white, far hotter than the Sun. Monoceros —the unicorn— does not appear in the classical catalogues —it was drawn in the 17th century— and so still carries the air of an invented creature.
