Hot blue starIts story
114 Tauri sends out a blue-white light from more than six hundred and twenty-four light-years away, at the eastern edge of the Bull. Its B-type atmosphere, far hotter than the Sun's, radiates a dry, piercing brilliance. When this light left the star, the first modern star atlases were being printed in Europe —and it would still have to wait centuries to reach the first human eye that recorded it with instruments.
